Traditional Living and Survival Skills
Join Michael Scott and Kelsi Cunniff for introductory skills of traditional living and basic outdoor survival. Students will come away with the ability to make friction fire, natural cordage, primitive trapping techniques, shelter building, and braintan basics. We will also focus on traditional crafts such as moccasin and sandal making, spoon carving, stone crafts, and wood burned bowls. In addition, students will learn basic permaculture gardening techniques through hands on experience - learn to build a compost pile, create water-retaining garden beds, apply mulch, and plant seeds. Come learn the basics of processing small mammals and fish along with traditional cooking and food preservation methods.
